      Hi All,

I have just started fabrication my 5" gauge copper boiler. I have a hearth made of thermal blocks but would like to wrap the boiler in a thermal insulated blanket for various soldering jobs. What is the best product for this ? Thanks Peter

Kaolin wool blanket (CUP Alloys) is probably the stuff you’re after; for my boilers however I used a pumice chimney liner, see my album.

Or a piece of Rockwool – roof insulation that's blowlamp flame proof.
