Sieg x2 gear rack

Does anyone know the size of the gear rack on a x2 mini mill as I would like to order one that goes the full length of the column.

This will add a bit of rigidity to it as well.

Just want to know the rack sizing not the length

Should be fairly easy to measure it.

Take a measurement over 10 teeth and divide by 31.42 to get the MOD

Bear in mind most off the shelf racks are a lot thicker than the X2 one and may warp if you take metal off the back only.

You might also want to look at the spare one that ARC sell, this is longer than was fitted to some early machines from other sources and would be the right thickness and is also ready drilled

I have installed the air spring conversion kit from LittleMachineShop (in the US). It comes with a longer rack gear, which is 0.75" wide, 13" long, and has 8TPI. I installed a shim behind mine to bring it into better engagement with the pinion. Hope this helps.

According to the Arc Euro website, the rack for an old X2 is 280 mm long.

Arc doe list spares for these machines.
