      Hello from Delft,Holland,

I have a Sieg sx2p  and a touch-dro and would like to have the rpm’s on the screen.

Touch dro only explaine the hall-sensor to read the rpm’s but the Sieg machines have an output for the rpm’s.

Is it possible to connect them or do i have to use the hall-sensor?

Thans in avance for the answers

      wout..

The subject of TouchDRO is a product range we kept out of.

Yuri would be the correct person to direct your question to.

But surely you can give us the output signal for the sieg mill?

Commercially, this information is proprietary to SIEG, and as a SIEG distributor, ARC keeps to SIEG guidelines.

There are people out there who have figured out the output signals, and perhaps one of them reading this thread may be able to assist the OP.

Similarly, Yuri has direct contact with SIEG, and commercially, I am aware that he prefers to make his own development and access decisions. So, as the OP wants to connect to a Yuri made product, this is a question he needs to ask Yuri.

The touch DRO can read encoder pulses to display the RPM. The number of pulses per/rev can be set. Connecting the 2 wires from the Sieg RPM sensor to the DRO is far less complicated than having the touch DRO interpret the Sieg RPM output. To avoid ground loops, i prefer using a dedicated RPM sensor for the touch DRO.

For my mini lathe I have build a RPM display that uses the RPM output form the lathe spindle driver. https://github.com/MetalWorkerTools/DC300_RPM_Display

                  Touchdro needs a ‘raw’signal.

The Sieg connector give’s signals to feed an lcd.

                  so,i’ll try the hall sensor.

                  thanks for the help.

                  wout.
