      Good evening all

Really sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone know if the Seig KX3 cnc is still available to buy in the UK?

I have done a search but nothing came up.

      Thanks

      Brian

I believe that support issues meant the hobby market was quite short lived

Looking at the offering from Techsoft I suspect that it is the requirement for adequate guarding to prevent liability issues rather than support that has meant that CNC machining equipment is too pricy to be offered to the hobby market.

Does not seem to have affected Sherline, Tormach or the many gantry CNC machines, even the big commercial ones for woodwork don't come in an enclosure just dust extraction around the business end. Aussee still offer the non enclosed KX3 at a lot less than the enclosed one but that also has a different operating system. You would need a big suitcase to bring one of those back with you.

Cost is certainly an issue as ready to run that will be capable of cutting all metals are not cheap so the hobby market will be small

I don't know how the Techsoft software performs and whether you are tied to their CAD/CAM or if it will take generic G-code from the likes of Fusion
