      hi im tony from north wales

      ive just started with a mini lathe, milling machine, metal saw, sand casting

      all the gear no idea, ive played around shredding my plastic gears to understand the machines, i have now put metal gears in , ive made a few pistons and cylinders to understand the functions, im now going to make a vertical engine , ill tak pictures of my progress and failures

          Hi Tony Welcome to the forum what machinery do you have there is plenty of help if you need any and pictures of progress and finished projects are welcome.

            I’m not too sure what you might call as ‘scratch’. I understand that to be from start to finish – ie design and build as you go.

            I would recommend following a well tried design as a first project.

                I lived in north wales for over 30 years, still miss the area a lot.

                Where do you live?

                Sand casting sounds interesting, are you setting up a mini foundry?

                    Hi guys, thanks for the welcomes , well first off I blew my motor on the lathe , armadeal called Hugh and got one the next day very helpful guy, I'm planning on building a twin cylinder Stewart design , making my own patterns and casting in alluminium, I have a small electric kiln which is ample size for the size of casting I plan to make
