Somebody once said “if you cannot say something good about something then don’t say anything” – so I’ll remain silent for now and check for improvements here in a year or two.

Goodbye old friend, you did your best!

I can’t help wondering what the people who wanted the old forum replaced are thinking now…

…Presumably, in most cases, they’re thinking what it is only sensible to think: that the problems with the new forum do not remotely alter the fact that the old forum needed replacing.

I always found the old forum easy enough to use, but all things change, for different reasons, so I suppose it,s just a matter of getting used to the new style. I,m still working on it, like a few others, I think.

any forum is the sum of it’s contributors, poor contributors, poor forum.

the forum software is only the means of accessing the members posts.

Yes! we all found the old software better than the new, but as has been said the old software needed to be replaced.

I use the forum on a daily basis and apart from the early problems find that I have no real issues now.

If we were comming to this forum as new members who had not experienced the old software, we would know no difference and accept the forum for what it is.

If you don’t like it, you have the option of going elseware, no one is forcing you to come here. I would think most of the prolific posters are still here and THEY are what makes the forum what it is.

I access this forum for it’s varied and valued content and even adding from my own limited knowledge where I think it may benefit others – surely the purpose of the forum.

In my view, the forum is usable as is (much better than when first introduced), your view may differ ( these  may be to do with factors outside the forum software).

Thank you to the mods for helping to get us to this point and thank you to the forum contributors for the wide ranging content, long may this forum continue.

Change doesn’t always make things better

We did better than Yahoo, which was totally obliterated

Going to take a while for people to get used to things

On the plus side less time in here means more workshop related time

I’ve had a really big clearout and re-organisation which was soo needed

Are we missing some information, was it a case of the new owners having to move the forum to new servers and  use new software for which they have a licence within a given time frame.  Perhaps like Horizon it will be bug free, eventually!!

The reasons for the move have been quite well-described, Howard … but I don’t presently have time to look for them.

Hi, I wonder if the OP bought a brand new car, which had no end of issues built into it, would he also decide not to say anything?

                              Regards Nick.

…. or indeed if he was given a brand new car to replace his old one which had reached end of life.

The brand new car given or not would not be very good if it kept breaking down each time he tried to use it !
