In an unknown land far away, lord knows when, some barmpot invented rocker cover racing. Now being a barmpot myself, when someone started it at a local classic car show, i thought, have a go lad plenty daft enough for me. Well i did, and won at my first attempt. (yes there were others there not just me) The idea is,find an old rocker cover, stick some wheels on and away you go. No power plants allowed, just gravity. The track is about 30ft long with a ramp at one end to get things rolling, and that is about it. Very simple(like me), but good fun,so if any of you out there live close enough to Crewe, Cheshire, and fancy having a go,you have untill 8th July to build one. Send me a pm if you are daft enough, and i will send you all the details Photo's of my efforts in my album.

        Cheers Derek

Hi Derek, great looking Funderbird 1, what a neat way of giving a rocker cover a bit more mileage.

          Regards Nick.

P.S.smart set of wheels you've got there.

Thank you gents one and all. Stew, and Bogs, you both know where i live, door allways open, and a brew only takes a mo. Ian you are very welcome to pay me a visit for a natter and a brew. I see you do'nt live to far away, afraid i cannot visit folk further than walking distance, as the only wheels i have are on the rocker covers. The track is at the Elephant pub in Shavington, and is part of the classic car meeting on the 8th July 2012,which this year will also have lots of stationary engines as part of the show.

                Cheers Dek
