Rob Roy blowdown valve?

Hi,

Just bought a rob roy and Ive noticed a plug in the backhead.Could this be used for a blowdown vale,if yes any suggestions please?

It's in the right place, and once you can identify the thread yes ! 5/16" x 32 or 40 TPI ME would be my thought ? Noel.

Yes. It has been set up as a washout plug but is the position for the blowdown valve as mentioned in the book, chapter 9. Took me about two minutes to find including going to another room to get the book.
