Hi Everyone From the 60 s I started to gather my workshop I bought an ML7 which was dismantled and came in a number of boxes for starters and eventually managed over the ensuing years to get quite a comprehensive set up. Attending evening classes was a great benefit alas there are very few colleges offering them now. I subscribed to Model Engineer and subsequently MEW up until late 80 s but from then until 2004 I was commuting from Monday to Friday and the workshop was a no go. When I eventually retired I had a few bursts of enthusiasm but the fact that my workshop is in the rear of a double garage with only the up and over door I got to the stage that I could not open the door from the inside. This was solved recently when a motorised door was fitted and here I am back and what with Lock down the machines have been dusted down and I am cutting metal again.

Ill get the hang of this computer thing, pity I can't go to the night school. The reason I say this is I responded to Chris,s welcome and query and thought it would appear here but it must have gone to him only. Anyway thank you both for your welcome and I will try and make something interesting. I mainly do workshop bits and I was telling Chris I am a great devotee of Hemingways Kits. Indeed I used to call on Neil on my way back so inevitably there are some castings to be sorted and worked on.

When things return to whatever normal is going to be in the near future, do try to find, and join a Model Engineering Club. You will find good company, face to face, and folk willing to lend a hand, a tool or even material, should you ever need it.

I am only up the road in Leeds. Once did some electrical work at a place called redicut wool.
