        Hi,

I responded to an ad. last night using the email message feature. The message I sent has not appeared in my 'Sent Messages' list — should it have done?

          Roger,

I just sent you a test mail and it immediately took me to a list of my sent messages and it was there.

Not sure if the advert link works differently but don't see why it should.

Send me a mail to test.

          baz

            Hi Baz,

I expected the advert link message to work the same as well, which is why I started to wonder if my message had been sent. I did get a 'message sent' acknowledgement when I pressed the send button, but that may not mean much. If I don't get a response from the seller today I will try sending a message direct from my account.

            Thanks,

            Roger

The sales adds allow you to send an e-mail not a personal message that is why they don't show in "My Messages"

Don't know how Baz sent an e-mail so suspect he has sent a PM

Although it sends an email, it does it via the website rather than the user's email client, so it doesn't appear as a sent message in your normal email client (Outlook in my case). This means you don't get a copy if the site doesn't post a copy to your sent messages. If this is how its supposed to work, then OK. But it would be handy having a copy of the sent message.

I can see the way round this is not to use the link on the ad., but just send a PM to the seller. Alternatively, you can use the link to get the sellers email address and then send a message from your normal email client.
