The rubbers provide a resilient mounting to isolate the vibration from the single phase motor from the rest of the machine, and to reduce noise.
Bodger's methods!
If the rubbers for the single phase motor have failed, probably because of oil contamination over the years) you could try an O ring of suitable size section. Cut to length to fit the groove.
The material of the O ring may well have better oil resistance than the original.
The clips are unlkely to be available, especially since they were probably made to Imperial dimensions, rather than the current Metric
. I had a motor with a top half clip missing. I made a replacement.
Not difficult. possibly; half and hours work. The bottom half of the seat for the rubber is in the motor mount, so you only need to make the top half.
It may not be quite as pretty as the original, but it is only required to do the job, unless you mean to enter the motor in a concours d'elegance!
