Reporting a post

There is the facility to report a post in the forum.

I have just managed to double post something, when I really meant to edit the content of something I just posted.

I thus reported my own mistake, but the reason for report is not well covered in the available list. I chose ‘inappropriate content’, but it would be good to have another option for reporting (e.g. posted in error) to cover these cases.

In the text under this sub-forum’s main link, there is a typo. “Before posting please read teh Help/FAQs”.

Hmmm, may be two problems.

I didn’t see DC31k’s report, possibly because Jason has already actioned it.   So I reported 31k’s post, expecting to get an alert, but no!  Not sure where it’s gone, oh dear.

‘Report Post’ isn’t intended to be a way of asking a moderator to correct typos; it’s for reporting members who break the Terms and Conditions.  Although double posts are harmless, I delete them on sight, so not much need to report them.

The ‘teh’ typo is annoying.   It’s in a part of the forum where moderators are allowed to post, but cannot change anything.  Once we’ve pressed the enter key, that’s it.

I got email notification of both reports, binned DC31K’s and removed the report from Daves. Did take a while to work out what DC’s was reported for as he was the poster too.

Usual thing that most people do if the realise in time is edit and remove the text and add something like “deleted” “Double Post”, etc

The “Teh” has been brought up before when we went live.
