I've had the following message from Kate at Reeves 2000:

We have been carefully monitoring the current situation regarding Coronavirus.

At this time Reeves continues to operate normally and currently have no supply issues. This however is subject to change at any time.

We have however decided to encourage customers to order online or on the telephone, as opposed to visiting the shop in person. As a consequence, all orders with a UK delivery address will be sent carriage free throughout the remainder of March. We will re-assess the situation towards the end of the month with a view to extending this throughout April should the situation persist.

The situation is changing minute by minute and we will adapt as required.

      Thanks

      Kate & Tash

Moves like this are very welcome but don't think things are going to get better soon. Current predictions show that we have many months of disruption ahead of us. I don't wish to sound too gloomy but this is going to be one hell of a ride. Good luck!

The postie here (Australia) yesterday told me that all parcels coming in from China are now being held in quarantine for two weeks upon arrival in Australia before being sent on for distribution around the country. I imagine Italy and other countries will be added to the list as their infection numbers rise. Will slow international trade down quite a bit and is likely to go on for quite some time as things progress. Quite likely other countries are or will be doing the same delay to make sure all Covid-19 bugs are dead before packages are given to the public.

Yet other sources are saying the virus can only last a day or so on a hard surface and maybe a couple days on cloth etc. Guess they are being cautious.

Temperature seems to be a factor, too; apparently, the virus likes the cold.
