        Hi There
I would like to get a recessed grinding wheel.
        6inch diameter x 1inch or wider thick.
Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get one at reasonable cost?
        regards David

David, Peter Child do various recessed wheels.
It also depends whether you are just after a recess for getting the mounting flange under flush to enable the clamping nut full engagement or are you looking for what is known as a cup wheel?

            Hi Merry Miller
I want one for side grinding on.
The recessed feature means the wheel is wider at the outside diameter then the middle so there is more on the side to wear.
Peter Childs is out of stock and also does not specify the grit.
            regards David

The Search I used. Note the use of the + that forces google to only return only sites that contain that word or phrase if it is in quotes +”nnnnnnn” .

But this search is better removed 6 inch:

AXMINSTER POWER TOOLS list a 150×40 white alumina 80 grit as a spare for one of their grinders. From catalogue photos there is about 25 mm or so of flat rim. About £14

                  Hi John
                  Seen that one.
                  Might be ok.
Will pop down to Axminster on Saturday if weather fine.
Only about 20 miles and they have the entire grinder in stock.
I really wanted about 46 or 60 grit but 80 will do.
                  regards David

                        Hi David,
I think this is the company suggested by Michael Cox selling on Ebay.
This may be a suitable wheel for you. Cup wheel It does not say what grit the wheel is but you could ask them if it is suitable in other respects. I bought two cup wheels from them about two years ago and have had no problems with them.

                        Les.
