R.I.P. Derek Hughes – Magpie

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news; I saw yesterday on his Facebook page that Dek died the day before.
He’s been in a nursing home for some time.

I never met him personally, just friends on Facebook, but did appreciate our exchanges, and his old photos from when he was involved in the music scene; lots of famous names in the pictures he shared.
Others might remember him from his articles on a fibre optic clock ( which I think still seeks a new home for public display ).
