Found this on another forum, a really interesting series on mechanical engineering. Not everything is applicable to everyone of course.

Bits I found useful were preparing metal for surface coating (can't remember which video now, but maybe number 6, and a nifty centre finder for a drill or mill, I think number 15 in the series.

I thought someone would have posted something about this guy at some point in the past, but I hadn't found the long thread about the laser laser centre finder. Another interesting video is the one of the lathe he built with the granite bed. A very interesting man, clearly passionate about engineering.
