      To the above, bend the tube a few degrees more than you want, then bend it back to correct angle. This also help to release the cord inside.

        I am in also two views as to whether annealing before bending is always a good idea and certainly with the more generous radii it is possible to achieve very good results bending by hand pressure alone using conviently available stub ends etc as mandrels.

          This is some 1/4" 20swg 316L tube being bent with tooling I made out of CA104 bronze. The machine is an Addison DB89. The tooling consisted of a bend die, clamp die and follower die and were all half round forms fully supporting the outside of the tube. The bend was 3/4" (3D) centre line radius. No mandrel, no filler. Sorry about the quality and colours, it was some years ago and cameras have got better since then.

          Forgot I also made the collet blocks to grip the tube end.
