I've been sent some DXF drawings which open fine in Turbocad 16, but when saved as a pdf any curved lines and centre lines appear with too heavy a weight. I also lose arrowheads on a couple of lines.

The person who originated the drawings has the same issue with a different version of Turbocad.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and know how to fix it? In terms a complete Turbocad newbie would understand?

      Thanks

      Neil

Do you have an independent pdf printer (e.g. Bullzip) installed? In which case you can ignore the one built into TC and just do a normal print to the pdf printer.

(Arguably, a separate program whose whole raison-d'être is for making pdfs is likely to be better anyway than a built-in).

            Hi Neil

I once had a similar problem a few years ago in that case it was converting a dwg format to pdf it only corrected it self when I upgraded from pdf reader to pdf read right.

            I've sent you an email

This is a well known problem with TCs PDF facility, the solution is to instal a separate PDF writer. The one I use is called PrimoPDF. It's free and instals as a virtual printer; it works for any program that can print.

Another user of Primo PDF here. HI would highly recommend it

It just installs as another printer so 'prints' from any other programme. Lots of useful features, you can combine pages too.

Thanks foks. I have Primo on the machine with TC installed, now I just have to work out how to boldly go into 'print space'…

Stew has sorted me for now, though.

A long winded way which I have done before to get round incompatibility problems is to print the original, then scan it back into the computer. My scanner has the option to scan direct to PDF, or even JPG if required. This avoids, in my case, having to obtain and install additional programs.

                    Regards,

                    Peter G. Shaw
