Not a private message scam but I thought it might be worth posting the warning. I have just had an email claiming to be from "HM Revenue & Customs" claiming I am entitled to a refund. I thought this suspicious So I looked at the URL of the link it wanted me to click. This is the URL of the link .

It does not look like a link to a UK government department.

      Les.

Definitely NOT from HMRC Les. You did the right thing by checking the url. I get a regular supply of these and always forward them to

        "phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk"

Maybe, I should have told him that the other plays "Annie Laurie" when it is pulled?

          Howard.

You mean like in Ford, Scania, Foden or Volvo ??

            Les.

If you get one of these to start with consider how HMRC got your email address.

HMRC will write to you using paper and ink and if they owe you money just ignore the letter and they will send you a cheque, which you pay in to your account. No electronics, no risk.
