Stew in the latest issue 4425 fig 20 shows the bearing housings, there are three sets of dimensions which look like they are meant to be the centre points for some of the internal radii of r5 & r10 but the sizes bear no relation to where these points would be located.

Can you shed any light on the subject?

          Hi Jason

And a big apology to one and all especialy to Danial a young man who is drawing up the popcorn engine as a CAD exercise he pointed this out to me last week and I'm afraid i didn't take much notice of him, much to my shame.

Any way i've checked out the correct sizes and this is them

The great mystry is i used this drawing for my engine and i've no idea how it came out looking OK i guess i must have winged it.

I’m thinking about building this engine as my 1st attempt at model engineering. I’ve been machining metal since 2002 when I started my apprenticeship but I’m more used to making big bits for powerstations than small components. I’ve bought the latest ME and seen part 3 of this build and its really taken my fancy. Could anyone tell me if the two previous articles are in the last 2 magazines so I can order back issues?

              Thanks

              Mike

Issue 4425 is not out yet. Is it?

Will I set of drawing to available for the popcorn engine. If so where could I purchase a set.

Thinking of building this engine so I can practice the machining of the cylinder before i start on teh cylinders for my Simplex loco. It will be cheaper to mess up this one than have to replace the casting for Simplex.

I have the magazines with the articles in but it is nice to work from a set of drawings in the workshop.

                        Stewart.

I am making the cylinder for the popcorn engine and I cannot find the depth of the steam ports on the drawings you sent me.

Hi Mike its 6mm same as the position of the 3mm dia exhaust port.

Hope the rest of the build has gone well.
