      Gentlemen,

I've decided to treat myself to a project of making an IC/hot air engine in Lieu of my retirement, I'm apprentice trained in the use of machine tools and over the years have kept my hand in and own to small mills and a lathe, my question is have any of you bought casting kits from Polly Model Engineering, they seem to have a couple of interesting projects that I'm sure I could cope with and their prices seem fair when compared with other suppliers.

I've seen inside Polly's workshops and the quality of the castings looked excellent. Anthony Mount's patterns for the engines originally with Bruce Engineering and now with Polly are beyond reproach.

            Thank you Neil,

I'm considering the atmospheric gas engine, it will be the first time I've built something from scratch, all of my previous machining has been and still is making parts for my stationary engines so feel up to the task.

Except perhaps for their Robinson hot air engine.
I've had 3 flywheels and 2 cylinders due to casting defects and the latest ones aren't any better. (Flywheel: voids in the rim and spokes not opposite each other and different widths, Cylinder: rear end diamond shape cock-eyed and top pivot point falling over to one side). OK, the design came from Maidstone engineering so maybe we could blame them for their poor patterns!
