I have had an enquiry from an M.E. subscriber, Mr Malcolm Cox, who is building Edgar Wesbury's 'Perseus' as a first engine. He finds that there is no indiciation on the drawing of the relationship between the position of the bearing pillars and the trunk guide support and this cannot be calculated because other relative dimensions are not defined (i.e. te connecting rod and eccentric rod lengths).

He asks would anyone able to help him please telephone him on 0845 4588416 (a local call rate number). He is in rural Wiltshire and has no internet connection but would be delighted to hear from anyone. He is best contacted at the weekends.

Alternatively please PM me and I will pass on the information.

        Many thanks
        Diane

The position of the trunk giude support and the bearing pillars as well as the cylinder support are all given on the drawing. This will determine the relative positions of all the parts along the length of the engine. Also the position of the bearing blocks relative to the centreline of the piston is also given which will set them out at right angles.

I'll e-mail you a poor snip of teh base plate drawing taken from Reeves site, not going to be an easy one to explain over the phone.

If anyone has phoned this chap or intending to at the weekend can they say so here as it will save me the trouble as I'm working from a poor reproduction of parts of the drawing.

              Hi Jason,

I think I have a free plan of Perseus that was given away with ME several years ago, but although a good search has turned up several ETW designs no trace of Perseus

I have found Kinglet, a tiny 4-stroke that answers all the outstanding pioints stopping progress with my miniature Suffolk. What a brain to cram so much information in the space of two side of paper!

Neil, I think you did the same as me, it Theseus that was free with ME which is the barstock version. I do have that some dimensions tally with Perseus others dont but it may be due to one using castings the other not.

As far as I can see from the reeves drawing which is the M20 all the info is there along the bottom.
