Paddle Steam Engine

Hello to all.

 

My current project is a two cylinder engine, I would like to show my current stage on the project here :

Hi, i can see the photo, the paddle steam engine has a crankshaft set to 180 degree, also the steam engine can not self start. Can you set the crankshaft to 90 degree, then the steam engine are self starting.

Thank you for your comment, that I’m sorry to say, I just discovered now.

 

I think you are right about the self starting issue, but I just give the shaft a little push, must think about this in my next design.

On honeymoon, before gettinmg into model engineering, I bought a french ship modelling magazine.

 

In it is a design for a two cylinder single acting engine – with the cranks at 90 degrees!

 

Think about it…
