Having up-dated my copy of TurboCAD some months ago, I have received e-posts from IMSI trying to sell me the very latest TC2022.

The most recent highlighted various aspects of its already very powerful rendering facilities (TC is aimed at architects as well as engineers), and included this screen-shot of one of the menus, which I trust IMSI and Mortons won't mind me quoting:

Although the above is a quote within an advertisement, I can understand what most of it is for – a menu of tools for using the programme – but why that column of "0x…." values?

Aren't those the internal addresses of the commands?

If so, why might they be displayed in an operating tool-menu?

Just curious, that's all – I know some applications give you programming functions (e.g. VisualBASIC in MS 'Excel'  and 'Access' , but have never seen values like these displayed with the tools of the two TC editions I have, nor in any other software.

Nigel's comment suggests he knows, but for others who may not, the "0x" numbers are in hexadecimal format, more readable than binary. They may be the codes representing the action produced by the key codes in column 3, or as Nigel says, the address that the command jumps to, to execute the code that performs the action.

Without seeing the labels at the top of the table, this is just conjecture.

Those codes are almost certainly independent of interface language, and hence potentially useful if quoted to support (the codes remain the same, even if operating language and descriptions change from English to German, French etc.)

The image appears to be showing the improved keyboard report function (searchable summary of shortcuts and functions) – there is a specific video showing this on the Turbocad UK site – even the column headings are visible.

                Thank you.

Bill – yes, you're right, I had realised they are hexadecimal values, but I didn't know what they do in this context beyond evidently being part of the command.

David – I think the advertisement does say "keyboard report", though not what that does and why from the user's point of view, so I can see its potential value in seeking support.

That was for TuboCAD 2022. I up-rated to TC2021, early this year.
