As some may have gathered, I've been using Open SCAD to design simple 3D printed objects, basically because whilst it's very easy to produce my own simple designs, it's also easy to amend other peoples designs to meet my own needs. I've watched a number of YouTube SCAD tutorials – some of which were pretty straight forward to follow and some of which were a bit above my pay grade I'm afraid.
However, YT popped this up on my 'suggestion' list this morning and I've found it very informative. It's a presentation by Marius Kintel who is the clever Austrian chap who originally wrote a good deal of Open SCAD. Unsurprisngly perhaps (given the presenter) I think it's the best summary of Open SCAD (and it's capabilities) that I've seen.
Open SCAD – Marius Kintell 2013
Marius gave this presentation seven years ago and whilst Open SCAD is still essentailly the same, it has been further improved since then. The video lasts nearly an hour but I watched it in two 30 minute sessions and I think anyone interested in getting into 3D Print will find it a very good use of their time.
