I am trying to find out more about a metal model ship which my grandfather, William Ernest Williamson, built around 1920.  I have been told that it won a prize at  the Model Engineer Exhibition in that year. I did see as a child a bronze medal about 7 cm in diameter.  I was told that the ship is called Sleuth and looks 1st World war or older.  I have been unable to identify the type but presume he must have copied an actual boat.

Is there a record anywhere of exhibits and awards.  The model has unfortunately been damaged over the years and I am unsure as to what to do with it.  It was built from scatch and has an electric motor which I think he also made.

I can provide photos of it if anyone can help.

An E.Williamson is listed as winning a Bronze Medal at the Model Engineer Exhibition 1922. (ME Vol.46 page 164).  I could send a copy of this page to your email address.
