      Hi

My father in law is refurbishing a Norman T300 and needs 4 oil rings. He would be overjoyed if anyone could help him with this

      Thanks

Hi, do you mean oil seals or O rings, if you post some pics up, I am sure someone can help you. Also state where you are in the country, because there are many suppliers who have kept old stock and parts for many years, one such being Oliver Lodge and Co in Hull who had stock of an old leather oil seals for a 1950's compressor I rebuilt, but no use to you if you are in Plymouth!

Most bearing suppliers will stock both oil seals and "O" rings. I have size charts for "O" rings both the old BS series of numbers and the metric ones. Also info all on the net.

I think the OP means oil rings as in piston rings to scrape the oil off the bore

If it is piston rings then you might do worse than talk to Thorntons

                p.s. Jason,

I thought they were meant to put a controlled amount of oil onto the bore rather than scrape it off

Google Cox and Turner, when you ring them they will require dimensions etc so that they can make them.

                    Dear All

Many thanks for all your replies. I will get in touch with Thortons and Cox and Turner. BTW he is after oil rings not seals and I have the exact dimensions

                    best
