      Could anyone please advise me on the grade/type of oil for crank, big end slideways etc. on a 2" scale traction engine. I know the grade of cyclinder oil for the lubricator.

          Use the same oil that you lubricate your cylinder with, that's what I used on my engines.

            Thanks again Michael for a swift reply. You are becoming my personal guru! My main experience of steam has been with full size traction engines and I know we used a different lube for motion work in those days but I couldn't remember which.Howevert using a universal lube/cyclinder oil simplifies the job no end. Thanks again.
