I would just to have available older issues of ME available without having to subscribe. Without wanting to sound prehistoric, but back in the 80's and 90's I bought ME magazine and still have various moth eaten copies but some pages are missing. What services are available for a non subscriber who has already paid for the magazine once but it has been damaged beyond recovery, as there were several episodes of construction that I now have missing. I started building a tender for the class 2 Ivatt and the cab for a gauge 0 lady of the lake and superba ploughing engine, but several sheets are missing. Do I have to subscribe to be able to get these again, assuming they are still available?

Robin, the online archive does not go back that far so a digital subscription would not help you.

Best bet is to buy from one of the second hand dealers, Last week at the Guildford show they were selling whole volumes for £2 which is far better than via e-bay.

It occasionally happens that people have set or volumes that they would just like to go to a good home rather than dump them, there are also very helpful people on here who will scan specific items if requested, this is ok for a few pages but it's a bit much for a build series. If you are not in a hurry the adds on here occasionally come up with sets and volumes at a fair price. eBay is worth a look but prices vary from outrageous to reasonable but a lot of people have an optimistic idea of their value but sometimes a missing copy can be worth a few quid if you really want it.

The Firefly did not start until June 1st 2012.
