We installed the first sections of the new track on Saturday. After boiler certification it was an opportunity to try out my Northumbrian for the first time

I had come to this forum last year hoping to see an example of one of these running. Now we have one.

At last! Great to see it going, the track looks newer than the engine. When will we see it pulling you?

I welded up three whole feet of 3.5" gauge track today as my first foray into that dark art! Not as neat as the one in your video by a long way.

The track project and this project commenced about the same time last year. However, the nice shinny new track sections arrived last week and were installed on Saturday. Whereas the loco has been undergoing extensive work over the past month or so to make it run properly. so yes the track is newer than the loco.

The track build is quite an involved story. a pictorial record can be found here.

My Northumbrian had been sat on the shelf while I got on with other things. As I had a bit of spare time I decided to do something about the gas wagon. It worked well and completed the set but chasing the thing round the track was getting a bit tedious so I added a single channel RC in the tender for the regulator. You can just see the shaft from the servo in one or two of the shots.

Apologies for the shaky video but RC controller in one hand and camera in the other doesn't work too well.

I do think it could do with another wagon or two
