Today’s News shows this being launched [re-launched?]

Further investigation reveals it being for England and the Isle-of-Man

So, being resident in Wales, I dug a little deeper:

      https://apphelp.nhs.wales/

… and can count myself confused already.

Does anyone here have actual hands-on experience of either/both of the Apps ?

… are they cross-linked to any extent ?

      MichaelG.

      .

Note: __ it’s significant to me, because although I am registered with NHS Wales, my cardiac pacemaker is still monitored by the wonderful team at Wythenshawe !

I’m no expert in this, but I’ve recently changed doctors from Sheffield to Buxton, so both  within England.
The two different surgeries use different web portals for their services, but both tie back to my NHS Login.
This seems to be a desk/laptop based access and covers all of the UK. Sheffield Doc used they own system, and Buxton doc uses something called Patient Access, a 3rd party service; I can use this for both appointment booking and prescription orders as well as other services.
Clicking on that link and entering my postcode just shows linked chemists for prescriptions and nothing about doctors’ access. Check your own local GP, they may use something similar.

From what I can make out “NHS login” (Welsh link) is a national account/service covering all of GB (Not sure about NI)
If registered with a GP in England, I can download, login and use NHS App (England specific), or Patient Access, which itself then accesses my NHS Login account. NHS app (England) can use fingerprint authentication of my phone etc.

Wherever I live I can access “NHS Login” via the web, but can also access my own required services via NHS App & Patient Access.

Your link to NHS Wales App, seems to duplicate my NHS App, and requires registration with a GP in Wales, as well as an NHS Login account.

I’m assuming you already have NHS Login from your time in England, so NHS Wales App should feed into that, along with any system your local GP uses.

          Thanks for your thoughts, Bill

On reflection, I think I will just keep my head down and ignore today’s announcement

The last thing I would want to risk happening is my cardiac care being transferred to NHS Wales by some ‘helpful’ algorithm !

I use MyHealthOnline to manage my prescriptions and appointments (and manage my dad’s for him).

I uninstalled the NHS app, I did have it for Covid test results to get into events etc.

              I’ll load the new one…

Our surgery uses some odd software for repeat prescriptions. When I order mine it auto fills the list with my wife’s medications. I suspect this is because we have the same email address. Even if I delete the unwanted stuff, it seems to put it back on so every month I get an email querying it. I’ve pointed out the problem, but as with many other instances they are in denial, computer can’t be wrong

This looks to be a case where a bad mistake could be made. It may be better for you to register either yourself or the good lady with a different email address. Most ISP’s let you have more than one addy on your account or free ones available from the likes of Gmail.
