There will be an exhibition at the Lesser Town Hall in Dalbeattie on Saturday 14th July.
Ray McMahon will have his latest locomotive on display and probably some of his other models as well.
Please support this event if you live locally. It is the first one and if the support is there it will be repeated in future years.

See the home page of this site for more details.

Unfortunately, though my briother lives in Galloway, I live very far away. I would be delighted to see Ray's locos and rolling stock first hand. I hope the event is a success.

To put words into Ray's mouth: "David, do I really have to kneel on the dog just so you can have a caption competition of the website?"

Hi Neil, I think Ray is saying "No need to be afraid you guys in there, I'm the BFG"

            Regards Nick.

P.S. BFG = Big Friendly Giant

What a pity this was not flagged up earlier. I'm going that way Sat. ,but all visiting relatives etc. timings have been finalised and cannot be changed, she says.

Take the relatives to the show – simple.

Glad to find this thread as I was wondering where the show was. The fancy font used on the homepage is frankly unreadable. Please think about this when making posters. As I write one of the adverts flashing to my right is clearly readable in plain sans-serif font on an unobtrusive background while the one above is half as clear as it uses a fancy mixed colour font.

While I'm about it please give a thought to the signs for the last mile to your show. People can find the town ok with a map but big clear signs at junctions really help.

My club invested in big yellow professional signs. Expensive but after the first year we just pay for the new date sticker. (peel the date off straight after the show so it doesn't mark). We found the person in the council to apply to (free) each year giving clear details of the dozen signs position so we can legally put them on existing street poles a week before the show. The council are cooperative because we are using the pukka quality kit not crappy bits of cardboard. ******This 'advertising' significantly improves attendence becaue of its prominence and official look so has easily paid back the investment .*******
