Hi signed up and subscribed today been reading for some time on and off.

After signing up and registering I signed out for some period of time say 2 hrs.

Came back and my password would not work I had to use the reset PW. I hope this isn't a normal problem anyone else had the same issue.

I never use "Remember Me" or "Stay Signed in" etc etc always sign in to any forum each time.

        Ray

Hi Just subscribed today and signed up

1 Had to rest my password once
2 getting "an unknown user and password" yet signed in after trying 3 times once using another machine.

3 Thread I created earlier today in regards to password not working and above is not here. I note it is pre-moderated etc guess the time difference is a major factor.

I am not a newbie to Forums but open to suggestions and comments on
Why this is happening with the sign in.

Oh I am using Firefox latest version
any other info i can supply glad too

          Ray

Answer to No 3 is that both posts were waiting for approval, I've moved them into one thread. I'm only on the phone at the moment hopefully another Mod can look into things for you.

              Hi Raymond,

I'm guessing it's because you share the account with the 'Get Woodworking' forum. the MTM server handles these as a single user account so if you change the password for one it changes it for the other…

Is it possible that this is the cause of your woe?

              Neil

PS Sorry for the slow response – odd connectivity problems here. Thanks for holding the fort by 'phone, Jason

                  Hi Neil
                  Also thanks for the response

No don't think that was the problem but you never know with computers and co-joined forums.

I had no idea till I was signing up that Get Woodworking and ME/MEW forum were linked, this is a good think means I can sign in once and use both forums smiley.

I have uploaded a screen shot of the error message which still comes up after I signed in this morning. First time rejected then 2nd ok but with that message still showing.

Hope the image helps sort the problem.

Ps is it just me being soooooo far away downunder that loading the forum and even main page is slower than a snail?

                    Hello Mr Moderator

                    I have a gripe!

I recently subscribed to MEW and living in Germany ipay a lot moree than UK subscribers get no free gift and now it seams i can't even read back numbers of MEW either without paying even more.

                    This is unfair

In June i was able to read through ALL of the MEW back numberss from number 1 and i noted the projects which might interest me, now when i tried to look up a project i find i haave to pay agaain.

                    sadthinking

                    Regards Ray

                      Hello Ray,

I'm afraid that the ongoing access to the archive was a 'grace and favour' extension for 12 months brought in when we shifted to new platforms for the digital issues.

If you've been using the 'magazines' link on the green bar above to reach the back issues ou will have been seeing this message every time for roughly a year:

                      Sorry!

                      Neil
