Hello all. I’ve made quite a few small steam engines from bar stock in the past and I need a new project. I want to make a model power press but haven’t seen any drawings to make it, or any other factory machines brake press etc. I remember back in the mid eighties there was a model maker who had a shop in Hastings, he made a model power press working with a small motor and thought at the time that I would love to have that on my toolbox at work. I can’t get the enthusiasm to make another steam engine, I made a working flintlock pistol, (not fireable) and have started another but have run out of enthusiasm on that, so a Brake press etc is my goal. Any help with drawing ideas will be appreciated.
      <p style=”text-align: left;”>Thanks Bob</p>

Hard to find even decent pictures of mechanical press-brakes, tho’ there are a couple on the ‘net.

Aliexpress (and probably other F/E suppliers) still list a Mechanical Punch Press (see link below) which would make a good basis for a model, and I think there are probably enough pics & videos to suss out the basic mechanism & proportions, once you have those you can ‘fill in’ the detail and finish as you wish..

..unfortunately I can’t link to it, so you’ll have to search yourself, try cutting & pasting this term

“Aliexpress Mechanical Punch Machine / 100 Ton Power Press”

I know a Punch-Press isn’t exactly what you asked for, but the internet seems to be better furnished with pictures of these than mechanical press-brakes…

That is the type of press, but the 70s small press that was used in small workshops is what that model workshop in Hastings made.

It looks as if I need to as stated work from photo’s.

            Thanks for the replies.

Please permit me a ‘sheepish’ guess:
