Hi David and Brian,
Thanks for your warm welcome.
Yes David, I am a tool person indeed. Always trying to make that tool which cannot be found in the commerce. I spent quite a lot of time in school, first becoming a tool maker/machine maintenance person, panel beater was my second degree and mechanic the third. After school found a job as a driver with lots of spare time so I studied(self teought) electronics for about eight years. Completed several projects and I have a spare room in the house that we call the "creative room".
Currently I am working in a quite a big factory running multi spindle lathe machines. The one I currently work is a beast, 7-metres long, 3,5 high, 3 wide, probably weighs 15tons. Kind of a boring job, the machine does everything and spits out a very complex part every ten seconds. Tge onky thing to do is checking measurements, setting and offsetting tooling. Setting the machine for a new job once in a while, so I made up this shop of mine to distract me from job.
Now that's a bit more about me, ain't it?
Brian, currently I am trying to complete the original accessories of my lathe. Some of them I found on the market, but some of them not. Because it's an old girl these parts cannot be found in abundance, ex. like the rear tool post T slotted base, only appeared once in a year on eBay. I think there are other Chipmaster owners out there crying for some of these parts and accessories and these cannot be found anywhere. There must be owners who owe these, if they could help out with measurements it would be very nice. Not that I cannot come up with some sizes, but if an original part existed, it's more easier to make a drawing and will avoid probable interferences miss-alignments and so on.
Thanks again for accepting me on this forum.
