Hi George welcome to the forum. What sort of steam engines are you interested and what part of the country are you from as it helps with local resources. Just ask on here and mostly there will be loads of help offered.

You might consider joining one of the Myford lathe groups . FB , and other platforms, there are quite a few. All are a great resource of knowledge and sales/swaps. Myford people are generally a nice bunch.
