I have held back so far but must comment on the front cover, that may or may not catch a new readers eye. It just looks like it was designed by different people in different rooms and as a result looks a bit “homemade” Too many fonts and colours. Less is sometimes more, can you please fix the magazine name as a starter, there is no need for tribal discrimination betwen ME and MEW, its one magazine so same font and colour please. And so long as the “Workshop” content is related to model engineering and not grinding your chain saw blades I will continue with my subscription.  Looking forward to the next release.

        I would love to

        a) receive the email indicating there is a new issue available

        b) a clear url to get my latest copy.

I am a current MEW subscriber if that helps/matters.

Presently the only place I can find my past issues is in the archives, and then only up to the last MEW. Email to Morton’s went into the fog, after 2 weeks I thought maybe someone here can clarify.

Once I can actually see a current issue I might be able to provide an opinion on looks and content.

          Gerrit,

Are you trying to log in to the archive via the MEW link?  I found, by experiment, that by using the ME button on the archive page, but using my MEW subscription number, I was able to view the latest ME&W issues as well as a substantial number of old ME magazines.

I should point out that I have paper and digital subscription, originally for MEW only, which continues to provide access to the “new”, combined publication.

Thank you John, yes I eventually figured out ‘that is the way’. Seems an odd way to get access to my subscription, via the archive. Pocketmags is now disconnected from my current subscription as well.

I would of course prefer to get email  notifications as I did in the past.

Change is hard at the best of times, I can only imagine the complexity of what lies underneath decades of wierdness in subscription management.

Contact Pocketmags, you should stilll have access to all the old ones you paid for as well as the new title on their site and they will let you know when a new one is ready to read.

That is assuming it is one continuing subscription. If one ended and you took out a new subscription then the new subs number will need to be used to gain access to the new title via Pocketmags.

Thanks Jason. I finally have all the permuations and nooks and crannies sorted out.

A truly perverse system. I have an active subsciption to MEW/ME, I have to find the issues in archives at model-engineer. And for PocketMags I had to re-activate my subscription.

Not for the faint of heart this process.

I still expect emails from MEW/ME but I won’t hold my breath.
