I’ve just posted a thread in the traction engine section and thought it polite to introduce ones self. I work in engineering and have done the car and truck restoration thing in the past and I’m now just starting to build a 4 inch foster traction engine. I expect to make the odd mistake along the way but it’s all part of the learning curve. At home I have a lathe, milling machine combo and at work I have access to a full machine shop. I’m new not only to serious model making but also to steam in general though I’m lucky to have people who can advise me. I have no time scale but have been advised and am working to a 5 year time line. This way it won’t take over my life (I hope) and it will spread the cost. I aim to fabricate as much as I can mainly as a test of skills. Thanks for having me.
