Mystery chuck

I have a 4" 3-jaw self-centering chuck on my Myford Super 7 that has no manufacturer's markings except for the only marking of "MICROTEST". It appears to be of good quality and is accurate. Can anyone help with any info regarding its likely origins? Thanks, Adam

Can anyone identify this 4″ 3 -jaw self centering chuck “MICROTEST”?

Possibly off a Microtest machine, in which samples of metal are held at each end by a chuck and then stretched to breaking point to measure the material's tensile strength, elasticity, elongation etc.

Can't think of any reason why it should not work just fine on a lathe.

Hi Adam again I seem to have got it wrong ,I pushed micro test and was sent to this area .Funny what turned up.A very old lathe from South Melbourn Australia.
