Hi chaps

I have been making a GHT indexing tool post with a spare turret. No problems there. Mounted on a new Myford rectangular style topslide. I have 2 spare base castings and when fitting the topslide to the base castings I get something like a 6 degree error from square when the base casting is aligned with the fiducial on my cross slide. Both base casting show the same angular offset. They are both second hand so I’m wondering was there a bad batch floating around or what.
Any comments welcome.

I have a perfectly behaved base casting currently fitted to my retracting topslide so a work round could be just swap the slide with the base still in place when I want to change but it’s a puzzle?
