Myford Super 7 Lathe Service

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a service engineer for a Myford Super 7 Lathe in the Essex area.

What does ‘service’ mean? There is nothing much on a Myford you can’t, or don’t do yourself, on almost a weekly basis if the lathe is in regular use. Ensure lubrication, adjust gibs, check belt condition and tension etc. What else would/could a ‘service engineer’ do unless the rear spindle bearings are completely shot, which is hardly likely.

There have been previous mentions/posts of a couple of ex-Myford factory fitters who offered a mobile service. A search of past threads may find them.

As Chris says above, most of what most lathes need can be done by the owner. Plenty of help on here if you have questions.
