I have an early S7 with an early mk1 clutch, when disengaging the clutch it drags and the chuck carries on rotating although it can be stopped by hand.
I have adjusted the clutch several times by the Allan screw located under the locking screw (situated in belt pulley)
If I spray a brake type cleaner into the clutch and then blow it out with compressed air the clutch disengages but soon goes back to dragging.
So any advice on how I could get it to work correctly?
I believe this type of clutch is metal on metal and does not have friction brake shoes as in later clutches.
So should this early type clutch be lubricated although the only way I can see would be to spray some lubrication into the clutch although I think this would probably make it drag again.
