I see what you have done more clearly now. I thought you had used one of the lever type grease guns which have a spring loaded plunger coming out of the end which would have been more difficult to adapt.

My original myford oil gun leaks as well. But enough of leaks and oil. Why don,t we use this thread to provide RDG with our ideal lathe spec?

(New) Myford have the drawings and the will to progress, but I cannot see there being a new design of Myford lathe for quite some time. They have to walk before they can run.

Thanks for sharing the mod info on the oil gun nozzle, can you tell me what the thread is on your gun?

I have attempted to measure the thread on mine (as supplied by Myford purchased 1973) and it appears to be close to 3/8″ (0.368″) and 27 tpi but I cannot find anything that matches that in any of my data tables. Is it a BSP thread or something else?

Many thanks for your responses on this, at least I now know what it should be.

Will spend some time over the w/e experimenting, I know that I have got a 1/8″ BSP die knocking about somewhere, with luck I might even have a tap.
