      Help needed please.

The coolant pump has a 360 deg 4 position switch on its cast casting 2 on positions and 2 off positions

I recently stripped the pump to replace both pump shaft bearings taking photos of the wiring as I stripped it apart – down loaded onto my laptop after waiting for the new bearings to arrive I finally rebuilt the pump. In the meantime my laptops HD failed and although it eventually shows me a desktop that as far as it goes I can't get to the file where the images are to show me where the wires go on the switch – had to buy a new laptop. I've got three wires that come from the motor winding 1 red 1 yellow and 1 black, I've two wires from the Capacitor 1 Blue and 1 Brown then I've the power cable normal 1 Yellow green earth 1 Brown Power and 1 blue negative The central switch has 4 positions 2 on and 2 off The switch has 5 terminals on one side 1 and 2 on the other side 3,4 and 7 when off nothing connects when on 1 connects with 2 and 3 connects with 4; 7 doesn't seem to connect with anything

      Can anyone help please regards

Will the Myford wiring diagram help?

If you don't have the Myford 254 manual with the wiring diagrams in, I can scan and email you a copy smiley

Seem to have lost the copies I posted, were there on the computer when I posted, but not showing on my iPad.

I see David has offered the diags so I do not need to repost.

                  Andrew

I can email the wiring diagrams, but before that, a couple of things to check:

Firstly, the changewheel/drive cover microswitch. The changewheel door is heavy, and it has a habit of dropping over time, and when it drops it isn't sufficient to release the door safety interlock. Your friend should tighten the door mounts before doing anything else, and make sure the door shuts securely.

If that doesn't fix it, check the chuck guard microswitch operation, as well as the changewheel cover one.

If it has a mushroom emergency switch (not the one on the headstock, a cabinet or floor one), check the mushroom is fully released by unscrewing the top and making sure the contacts inside are free to complete the circuit.

Lastly, if the above doesn't work, check the contactors are contacting/releasing properly.

                      Andrew

For the wiring diagram, I will need to know if it is single or three phase, and whether or not it has the simple electrics, or the more complex version with the reversing push button starter, NVR and emergency stop button on the headstock casing, as they are all different wiring diagrams.

The Motor is 3 phase but modified to work on single phase supply, i'm just waiting for my

friend to get back to me with info regarding the items, NVR, E Stop and reversing button
