Quick review: Purchased this from Amadeal end of december 2024, was delivered first week of January 2025. Delivery went smoothly, the courier had a motorised pallet track so getting it to my front drive was simple.

It had to sit outside for a week because my engine hoist was lost in delivery so a new one had to be sent. I got the cheapest crane I could find, a Switzer 2 ton from ebay for £180. Quality and finish is surprisingly good and it worked fine.

Upon first power-up the control board blew which was very annoying and quite scary but Amadeal was very quick and responsive in fixing this issue, they got a board sent from Weiss in China and then shipped to me which took about 7 days.

I cant fault the customer service with Amadeal, from day one they were very quick to help and respond

      Getting it moved:

First I swiveled it around so I could get the crane in place

TThen lifted up and removed pallet and placed on skate

Im in a terraced house so had to take it through the house

Using pallets, plywood and some soil bags as crash barriers I was able to move into the garden DJI_20250124132502_0284_D.00_02_05_29.Still005

UInto the final destination, my newly built shed

Hoisting up to the bench, I was at the very limit of the crane to get it onto this bench and luckily I built a skylight in the shed so the arm could reach the full height, if I didn’t have that I would have had to chop the legs shorter on the bench which would have been a pain in the ass! This felt very sketchy, I was worried something would snap and slip at any point. I wouldn’t have liked to lift anything heavier and glad I didn’t get a used old English lathe now because I think this was probably the limit that I could move by myself. I do plan on buying a mill in the future, probably 450kg range but hopefully I can take apart and it will be more manageable

Hope that helps someone in the same position thinking of buying one

Congratulations with your new lathe. I got a couple of big guys to help me get my 290 lathe into my workshop over ten years ago. The lathe has served me well with no problems, but my lathe has a 3-phase motor and VFD.

          Nicely done, Sir !

          … and that’s a very classy ‘shed’
