      Hi

Been a member for sometime, this is my first attempt to communicate with like minded people out there.

I would like to share my workshop projects and stationary steam engines that I have built and restored over the years.

I have created an album for members to view and hopefully comment on.

I am entirely self taught so not very technical. Nobody has seen my workshop and engines, I have always worked entirely on my own, no clubs or anything like that. So this is a new one for me, coming out so to speak ! I will add to my newly created album, including the " other end " of it. And then some of my engines.

          Hi Roger

Certainly a compact workshop but that hasn't prevented you from making some very nice looking engines, although you say compact it looks very well equipped with tooling.

Welcome to the forum, what's your current or next project ?

Welcome Roger, looks like you've got a 'compact' set up there. looking at some of the pics of models you've made I would say in the NVQ L3 parlance, you're more than 'Technically competent'.

            George.

Compact!? But, but, I can see the floor! Room for some more machinery there me thinks.

Seriously, nice tidy shop with some excellent work on display there – well done. And a good use of shelving – I always like to have good shelving – not too deep so things get hidden and far better a storage area for tools than 10 year old tins of 1/4 full dried up paint.

I've made contact with the outside world ! Thanks for your reply.

My current project is a horizontal mill type engine, 2" bore 2" stroke, entirely made from odd castings and bar stock ,cylinder covers are 80mm c i bar stock, crankshaft an unmachined casting of unknown origin, flywheel Stuart 5a, cylinder Stuart no 1, steam chest brass bar. Eccentric straps brass 3/8" plate. Bearing blocks steel bar. You can see pics on my album.

Hello Roger and welcome. That is certainly a well stocked workshop and I can see some very nice work there.

A veritable little Alladin's cave of nice machinesand beautiful models. Makes me feel guilty for complaining about my 2.5 car shed and the difficulty of turning a motorbike around without opening the roller door to the outside.

A very nice workshop you have there. A veritable route march from one end to the other. I have 2 small steps in either direction in mine. You turn out some nice work in it. Wish I was as industrious. crying

                          regards

                            A very impressive set up.

I have a bit more space but am not using it nearly as effectively!

Very nice setup you have there. I think there may be just room for a packet of biscuits down the left side. Or maybe not.

                                Nice and effective workshop!
With a lot of machinery and professional models.

The only thing still missing at least in the pictures) is a door to get in and out😉.

See you posted some more engine pictures Roger, lost count now of how many you have in that workshop, that twin horizontal really caught my eye.
