I have a beautifully built (brass) model of MV Cranborne, built by an expert modeller, Mr David Robertson of Corby. Does anyone recognise this name? I understand that he made excellent traction engines etc.
Sorry I cant tell you anything about the prototype vessel, but I do remember the series “Modeling the Cranbourne” described in the Model Engineer around 1962/3.
However I am sure far more knowlegeable folks on this site will give you more detail than I can.
Found it, 1st Unsinkable (model metal boats, Cranbourne. 1963 vol128, no 3211 P 98 Vulcan. 2nd, Modeling the Cranbourne, 1964 vol 130 no 3245 P 214 Oliver Smith.
