Just listening to a radio discussion of 'Mumsnet'. One interesting comment was that some topics where people ask for advice (e.g. breast vs. bottle) a can turn into 'judgie-space'.

I'm sure we are all better behaved, but I shall be looking out for any 'judgie-space' tendencies creeping into in this forum!

Things here in NZ get a bit heated on that subject Neil, on talk back radio the announcer needs to have his finger on the cut off button.

                        "Judgie-Space" Neil ?

It's a very strange new world out there isn't it and (unfortunately) it just seems to get weirder as you get older.

I guess you may be referring to some of the vacant looking young women (with babies in buggies) that I see through the window of my local Costa Coffee as I wander past? The ones completely lost in their mobile phones with thumbs flying across their virtual keyboards. Two or three of them at the same table – possibly communicating with each other for all I know.

How did anyone (especially Mums) ever manage before we had mobile phones and the Internet? Do you think their children will actually be capable of speech – or just equipped with iPads at birth.

Sorry – I'm obviously in need of some Self Healing Environmental Development time (SHED).

I'm off there right now for some immediate happiness therapy.

                        Regards,

Sounds like the synthetic vs dino oil debate. Or engine oil vs way oil.

Judgie space eh. Will have to look out for it.

And let's not mention lathes made in a certain overseas country vs the finest of British engineering in the (oily) days of yore!

I've Googled it and this forum seems to be the only relevant result. Am I missing something?

                                          Ian,

I think part of the problem might lie with Neil's chosen spelling of a term that he heard on radio. … Perhaps 'Judgy' might be better than 'Judgie'; but both are rather unpleasant compared with the real English word 'Judgmental'.
