Ted
I bought a ‘Metric’ mill that has an MT2 taper but was supplied with two draw bars, one metric and one imperial which covered all the fittings I have bought to date but it made me aware of some of the pitfalls with regard to tooling fitments. I know that some ‘Metric’ machines are being offered with imperial threaded draw bars so it may be worth checking yours.
I have had a quick look at MT3 taper ER collets from various well known suppliers and have found that there are at least four thread options on offer. These range through metric.BSW and UNF. If you can extract your draw bar then it may be worth measuring the thread diameter and pitch to identify the thread. If you don’t have a pitch gauge then trying various nuts, gently

, and you may be able identify the thread or at least eliminate some.
Cheers
Martin
