Morning folks, I've just signed up after coming across the site via Google whilst researching bits & bobs. The site is a great source of knowledge & "hooks you in" thinking

I'm semi-retired; electrician by trade, but spent the last 25 working years installing plant in the water industry. I have a reasonable home workshop with all the usual basic kit, including a nice late model Super7. I look forward to lurking, reading & absorbing the knowledge of the collective.

          Welcome!

There will always be someone to offer advice and /or help when you have a problem.

          Whereabouts are you located?

If possible, join the local M E Club. If you need face to face, or hands on, help, that is a place to find it.

          Howard

Hello Salty and welcome. Are you interested in making anything in particular or is the workshop a 'maintenance' station?

                Thanks for the welcome chaps.

Howard, I'm in Barnsley, deep in the Peoples Republic of South Yorks.

Brian, nothing specific at the moment, I'm still finding my feet & don't want my ambition to exceed my ability. I've ordered a couple of bits from Hemingway just to cut my teeth on. A rear tool post being one of them.

I've always admired old engineering, pumps, engines etc. I came across various examples in my water industry days. Ultimately I'd like to work my way up to external combustion engines, but I'm a way off yet.
